PDA is a published, award-winning architecture office in the Rancho Park/Westwood/Century CIty area of West LA.  PDA's work includes modern single-family residential projects, commercial/office work, adaptive re-use, and contextually sensitive renovations. We advocate for sustainability in all of our work. We are dedicated to ambitious design with carefully considered detailing. Our projects demonstrate an acute consciousness of spacial quality and visual/material texture as it impacts day-to-day living.

Position now open: Project Manager/architectural associate (formerly "intern architect") with 6-8 years experience in all phases of custom residential and commercial work at US offices.

PDA creates working drawings with AutoCad or Vectorworks software, on Mac platform.  We are currently transitioning away from Vectorworks, and will begin to integrate Revit (BIM) into our project work processes.  Qualified applicants for this position should be skilled Revit users.

This position also requires:

  • Very strong design skills and ability to represent project design ideas at small and large scale through hand-sketching and digital methods (2D and 3D).
  • Meaningful project management experience (consultant, contractor, and client contact in guiding a project to completion) including construction administration of single-family residential and/or light commercial work in field and office
  • Ability to contribute substantially to the assembly of design presentation drawings, and filing, pricing, and CD sets with guidance as to office standards for basic formatting and necessary contents. Applicants should have familiarity with relevant local codes.
  • Excellent english written and oral communication skills, as well as strong organizational abilities
  • Facility with Adobe Suite, Sketchup, Rhino, and/or other Mac-platform rendering software
  • This position will feature drawing/drafting and collaboration with other project team members in creating drawing sets
  • Applicants must have a professional degree from a credentialed US academic institution (college/university).  No applicants without US work visas. We encourage licensure-track applicants.

Insight, experience, and enthusiasm for appropriate detailing (in modern and contextual modes) is desired in a successful applicant.  PDA endeavors to create a challenging and supportive work environment, where staff learn and grow while accepting responsibility commensurate with their ability to contribute.

Thank you.
