The Opportunity:                        

We are seeking a collaborative team player who is dedicated and passionate about workplace design, with strong design and problem solving skills for opportunities as a Project Interior Designer/Architect. The individual will participate in workplace projects of all sizes and levels of complexity from project start-up through completion within the workplace practice area. The candidate will support project teams, produce test fits, and provide programming, design solutions and presentations, construction documents and participate in construction administration services. The Project Interior Designer/Architect will be responsible for project deliverables and meeting overall project design schedules in tandem with the project team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Initiates and creates project designs and plans of all phases of one or more projects and has responsibility for preparing presentations and design drawings.
  • Will participate in programming, visioning and site assessment tasks.
  • Produces drawings and presentations for stakeholder(s) and client facing meetings (Workplace Managers, Business Unit Directors, Leadership, etc.) for review and feedback.
  • Attends client meetings and conducts interviews to collect requirements, presents findings and recommendations.
  • Coordinates all consultants and vendors related to project design and construction documents while monitoring drawings.
  • Responsible for developing design solutions and technical accuracy of projects.
  • May supervise or perform site observations activities.
  • Record/archive all drawings, data and project information.
  • Maintains strong knowledge of systems furniture and furniture product applications.
  • Ability to effectively communicate intent, plans, status, issues, alternatives, solutions, and resolve conflicts.
  • Collaborate with design team to meet functional, aesthetic, budgetary and schedule requirements.
  • Field verify space dimensions, conditions and when applicable, existing furniture inventory. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Interior Design or Architecture is required.
  • Minimum of 6 to 10 years’ Workplace project experience.
  • Professional Registration in Interior Design or Architecture preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely and reliable service to client(s).
  • Ability to present information in an effective way.
  • Demonstrated capacity for design sensitivity.
  • Strong technical and graphic communication skills.
  • Advanced Revit skills required. AutoCAD, Graphic rendering – including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, 3D modeling and presentation skills a plus.
  • Familiarity with Newforma Software a plus.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite.
  • Must be a team player and possess the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Ability to collaborate, problem solve, multi-task and adapt to change quickly when necessary.
