Urban Architecture LLC, a successful Architectural & Civil Engineering firm in Jersey City, NJ, partnered with Manhattan Building Company (MBC), a leading area Developer/Builder with 35 year track record. We're continuing development, design, construction of mid / high rise, luxury steel and concrete residential/mixed use buildings, with upgraded roads and sidewalks, streetscapes and parks, in an important historic Jersey City neighborhood—with additional future projects already ‘on the boards’.

We're hiring an Architectural Designer / Detailer with 5 to 8 years of professional experience preparing, producing, detailing mid / high rise architectural documents and files, and to a lesser but important degree, experience with / familiarity with civil engineering drawings.


  • MUST CURRENTLY live in or within reasonable commute to Jersey City, NJ (North NJ / NYC metro area); Relocations not considered.
  • 5 to 8 years of professional architectural experience working on all aspects of residential and mixed-use architectural / construction drawings, associated documents and files e.g. floor plans, layouts, wall elevations, schedules, shop and coordination drawings, etc.
  • Familiar and comfortable working on civil engineering drawings when needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited architectural program.
  • Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office and big 'plus' for proficiency with 3D modeling software.
  • Strong knowledge of building and accessibility codes, and MEP/FP trades coordination.
  • Friendly personality; organized; calm under tight deadlines; prefer working alongside/assisting others rather than alone; good written communication skills.
