Our San Diego office seeks an experienced Senior Job Captain with 6+ years’ experience who is seeking long-term career relationships with potential for advancement. Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or an equivalent related Design degree and licensed or on track for licensure as an Architect in the State of California.

Candidates should possess the following skills: 

  • Experience with some combination of the following: education, residential, commercial/ mixed-use, retail, senior living, and wellness projects
  • Proficiency with Revit/AutoCAD, Microsoft Office & Outlook, and familiarity with SketchUp, Photoshop, and other industry software applications are desirable
  • Basic understanding of materials and methods of construction
  • Excellent graphic and design capabilities exhibited through resume & portfolio example projects
  • Comprehends design concepts in both verbal and graphic communications
  • Capable of composing and extending design elements in presentation format
  • Familiarity with building and zoning codes and ability to compose design details into Construction Documents (preferred)

Candidate responsibilities include: 

  • Work under the collaborative direction of Project Architect, Project Manager, and Senior Designer to develop design concepts that respond to Firm and Client objectives
  • Coordinate project team members and monitor performance in order to ensure compliance with deadlines and quality assurance
  • Development and preparation of Construction Documents for education, commercial / mixed-use, retail, residential, senior living & wellness projects along with related site planning
  • Coordinate the project consultant team members in the development of the project documents at all phases
  • Selection of building material and color palette presentation boards
  • Prepare 3-D models of proposed designs utilizing presentation modeling and/or BIM software
  • Assist Project Manager with permit submittals and approvals; DSA or OSHPD experience a plus
  • Assist Project Manager with construction administration and facilitate the flow of information during construction
