OMA’s New York office runs 10 - 20 projects of various size and scope simultaneously, ranging from competitions to projects nearing completion. To further accommodate our growth, we are looking for a Staffing/HR Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for recruitment of new staff members in coordination with the International HR Manager, resource planning of current and future staffing and coordination of the design and project teams.  

In this role, you will also liaise with the International HR Manager on local HR processes, such as on/off-boarding, follow-up on visa applications and travel arrangements for our expat employees, and will act as the trusted person for local staff matters. In addition, you will work closely with the local recruitment team to facilitate prescreening and interviewing flows.

The Staffing Manager will report to the Partners in charge of the New York office and will liaise with the Project Managers and Project Architects to coordinate staff allocation, as well as the relevant management of support departments based in OMA’s Rotterdam office.


  • Degree in business administration and/or organizational management
  • 5+ years of working experience in a similar position, preferably in architecture or other creative industries
  • Experienced in recruitment processes in creative industries
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in resource planning and project management
  • Personable, with a hands-on approach
  • Self-disciplined and confident in a complex environment
  • Good understanding of the economic and political environments in which OMA operates
  • Valid USA work permit is preferred
