MONTALBA ARCHITECTS, INC., is a design-focused and high-service architectural practice based in Santa Monica, California with a satellite office in Lausanne, Switzerland. We work with a wide range of local and international clients and our body of work consists of private residences, boutique retail stores, hospitality and commercial projects. 

Our LA office is centered within the Bergamot Station Art campus in Santa Monica; amongst art galleries and the newly opened Metro Expo line station. We have a studio-like atmosphere where individuals can focus, inspire and learn from each other. We are seeking qualified and passionate candidates in Interior Design with a focus in high-end hospitality.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Completion of BArch, MArch or Interior Design degree
• 3+ years of relevant work experience in an Architectural or Interior Design office
• Experience in high-end hospitality interiors
• Working knowledge of high-end finishes and fixtures
• Organized, precise and attentive to detail
• Great verbal, written, and graphic communication skills
• Self motivated and enjoys a collaborative team environment
• Flexible and well-rounded to accommodate shifting schedules, project demands, and deadlines
• Construction Documents and Construction Administration phase experience required (Must include examples of Construction Document sheets in submission)
• Project management experience preferred
• Proficient in Autocad, Sketchup and Adobe Suite
• Familiarity with Spexx is a bonus
• Max OS X experience preferred

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

A candidate should display excellence in high-end Interior Design for complex hospitality projects.

The primary responsibilities for this position include:

• Research and develop concepts for interiors that align with the overall project design
• Coordinate with project manager, internal team & consultants
• Develop interior elevations, millwork, custom furnishings, and space planning
• Develop interior finishes and furnishing in 3d models
• Assemble clear graphic presentations with diagrams, sketches, drawings and 3D views
• Create a comprehensive material box
• Material sourcing and selection
• Familiar with local furniture manufacturers and vendors as well as custom furniture makers
• Work with manufacturers, vendors and sub-contractors to create full-size mockups
• Research and compile FF&E cost and schedule
• Research and implement new finishes and products to the materials library
• Support staff in ongoing interiors training across projects
