Architect/Project Manager

Award winning architectural lighting design firm looking for a full time Architect/Project Manager with at least 4 years of relevant work experience in Architecture or Project Management in Manhattan.   

Candidate should be a professional who is exceptionally well organized, resourceful, conscientious, dedicated and detail-oriented with very good written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.


The role of Architect/Project Manager requires special architectural knowledge and skills acquired through University study within an accredited architectural program.  

  • Undergraduate degree in Architecture or Interior Design
  • Minimum of 4 years’ work experience with an understanding in lighting design across architectural, interior and landscape design projects.
  • Experience with physical model making
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Developed skills in 3D modeling software (Revit, Rhino) 
  • Advanced knowledge in Adobe suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, and MS Office
  • Strong sensibility and appreciation for design communication and eye for detail
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and superb ability to multi-task.
  • Time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at various stages of design
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 


Architect/Project Manager is a member of our multidisciplinary team at L’Observatoire, with the following duties and responsibilities

  • All aspects of project management including managing staff performance and efficiency
  • Overseeing elements of design and construction, including organizing and reviewing plans
  • Using strong analytical skills to problem solve and make decisions based on changing conditions.
  • Leading  and directing members of L’Observatoire project team on various projects
  • Attending meetings during all phases of project, create and issue agenda’s meeting minutes and any other form of official record that may be needed
  • Oversee the documenting of the lighting design via CAD layouts, lighting details, light fixture schedules, lighting control specifications.
