International luxury interior design firm looking for a highly creative, dynamic, innovative, motivated, committed, all-around Interior Architect or Architectural Designer to join our expanding NY Studio located in one of Manhattan's most vibrant neighborhoods.

Key Responsibilities 

Candidates need to be able to work in an office that has a casual corporate culture with a collaborative team approach. Applicants should be familiar with the interior design process from pre-design through design development and  construction. As an Intermediate Interior Architect, you will have good knowledge of interior detailing and construction administration including responding to RFI’s and commenting on Contractor Shop Drawings and Construction Documents produced by others. Furthermore, you must be comfortable working  autonomously and possess a high level of attention to detail. 

Skills and Responsibilities

Candidate must have a Bachelor of Interior and Architectural Design, a BSc in Interior Design or similar, with 4+ years’ post-graduate experience.

Proven experience in dealing with clients, contractors and other suppliers in a highly professional manner. 

Experience in creating and developing conceptual designs including the skill of using color and texture, and the ability to explain these to others. Proven knowledge in preparing Detailed Design packages (schedules of works, lighting & power, plumbing, schedules etc)

Proven experience to redIine Construction Documents by others, coordination with the architect of record during the CD phase, work with the construction team and respond to shop drawings and RFI’s.

Proven experience in AutoCAD, Photoshop, 3D modelling software, Excel and other industry software packages would all be advantageous

  • Self-motivated but also a good team member who is able to work quickly and efficiently in an organized manner
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and visual
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Working accurately to a written or verbal brief
  • Producing detailed drawings to a very high standard and level of accuracy
  • Redlining Construction Documents by others, coordinating with the Architect of Record during the
  • CD phase, working with the construction team and respond to shop drawings and RFl’s
  • Help to ensure the original design intent is maintained through the latter phases of the project
  • Liaising with contractors and other professionals and specialists
  • Attending regular meetings with clients, contractors and other specialists
  • Coordinating the work of the design team and sub-consultants
  • Making site visits to monitor progress
  • Dealing with site/construction problems and RFls etc that might arise during construction phase

The candidate should be a US national or have a current work visa for the US.
