Architectural Sales Representative

As an associate at Relative Space you will be expected to utilize your superior interpersonal skills to deliver a professional sales experience to our clients. You will assist in day-to-day tasks in our Manhattan showroom and be provided with training to expand into a sales role that involves generating new business from your own network of contacts and references, as well as visiting and servicing existing architecture, designer, and builder accounts.

Responsibilities include:

  • acquire new clients via outreach
  • engaging clients by learning about their flooring needs and directing them to appropriate solutions
  • recording your sales activity to report to our sales manager
  • evaluating projects to determine suitable products
  • participating in company events for clients
  • monitoring your projects in our company CRM
  • attending learning sessions by manufacturers to further your knowledge
  • self-development for product knowledge, sales ability, and presentation skills

Our target markets are the architecture, interior design, and construction industries. Experience working in any of those industries and a bachelor or associate degree in a related field are major assets. The ideal person for this position also has:

  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • good computer skills (competence with word processing and spreadsheets at the very minimum)
  • basic knowledge of design and construction
  • a fondness for design
  • a minimum of two years of sales experience
  • experience working in a team environment
  • a self-driven personality; comfort with both autonomy and direction

Base salary ranges from $40,000 to $60,000 for more experienced associates plus commission (compensation is commensurate with experience).
