Rowland+Broughton is seeking a motivated, collaborative and detail-oriented person to join R+B’s team as an Architectural/Interior Design Visual Artist. This position requires a team member with a degree in Architecture or Interior Design, sharp graphic design skills, a keen eye for details, a desire to focus on architectural representations and visualizations, a developed sense of composition and lighting quality, and a passion for architecture, design and publications.

This team member is comfortable working collaboratively to brainstorm new concepts, as well as independently to produce photorealistic renderings, artistic, and detailed design drawing. They will have the ability to produce high quality renderings and presentation materials that effectively convey concepts and designs to clients, architects, interior designers, urban planners, contractors and other design professionals. Candidates should be eager to leverage these abilities toward strategic and creative project related and marketing initiatives in a collaborative yet fast-paced environment.

The candidate should demonstrate a strong command of high-end rendering techniques and post production with strong skills in:

  • Minimum: SketchUp, Revit, Vray, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite (specifically Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator); Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Windows-based studio environment
  • Bonus: 3ds Max, Rhino, Grasshopper, Enscape, and other 3d and visualization software candidate can bring to the table. Experience with VR walkthroughs and setup a plus.


  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in image-making at architectural design firms or rendering agencies
  • Ability to create and manage an easy-to navigate 3d asset library accessible to the firm’s other visualization artists
  • Excellent organizational and clear communication skills
  • Able to coordinate with outside rendering agencies on projects deemed too large or deadline intensive to do in-house
  • + Ability to produce conceptual illustrations, diagrams, as well as artistic and photo-realistic renderings
  • + Bonus: Experience with architectural photography or videography and holds the skill to communicate through hand renderings
  • Degree in Architecture, Interior Design and/or Urban Planning
  • Ability to work and deliver within tight time frames
  • Portfolio of relevant work examples
