Peter Benoit Architect, Inc. is a design studio and small firm located in Downtown Los Angeles, with a diverse portfolio of custom residential and commercial projects.  The studio is looking for a Job Captain/Junior Architect with at least 2 years of experience in an architecture firm, who will support the Principal and Project Manager directly and be in charge of putting together drawings sets on various projects.  The candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • Quick but accurate BIM and 3D modeler.  ArchiCAD experience strongly preferred—we are an ArchiCAD office.  If no previous ArchiCAD experience, must be able to jump in quickly, learn and master the fundamentals of ArchiCAD production according to office standards
  • Crafts 2D technical drawings beautifully and carefully without exception.  Must be a well-above average drafter, who knows how to use line weights correctly, understands scale and proportion, and can quickly master complex layering to organize the firm’s BIM files.
  • Can make high-quality, well-lit and finished presentation renderings from ArchiCAD BIM model using Photoshop
  • Able to put together new drawing sets with Project Manager based on previous sample sets, design sketches handed off by the Principal, a schedule, and an allowance of time
  • Able to self-coordinate, troubleshoot and purge out mistakes as they are discovered
  • Be highly systematic, able to learn office standards quickly, and then able to mimic and implement those standards reliably
  • Able to take instruction, listen attentively, remember things as they are learned, write out and use to-do lists, and issue deliverables on schedule.
  • Be a creative and flexible thinker who does not take “no” for an answer
  • Keep up with the studio’s pace

The studio is a casual work environment with flexible hours, is dog friendly, we play music, go on outings, field trips and lunches together, we talk a lot about architecture, design and the profession in-studio.  Significant learning and growth opportunity for candidates who want to build out their professional skills as an architect.  Studio is unable to sponsor candidates needing work visas.
