About Barnes Coy Architects
FIRM PROFILE. We specialize in contemporary residential architecture. Our ambition is to create Architecture with a capital “A.“ From our offices in Bridgehampton and Manhattan, we have completed more than 250 projects in the Hamptons, New York, Colorado, California, Florida, the Caribbean and Central America over the past 25 years. The culture behind our success in achieving the highest standard of design is that no one cares more about the project than the Architect. The principals Robert Barnes and Christopher Coy are personally involved in every project—from concept to detailing to construction—to ensure the best realization of clients’ requirements. During the early 90’s, due to the difficulty builders had understanding and accurately bidding on innovative designs, we not only designed but also built our projects, acting as architect and construction manager. While this is no longer the case, we continue to bring to each project also our technical knowledge of construction and practicality in budgeting and use of materials. In this tradition, we maintain a strong on-site presence during the construction phase of the project.
