SHoP Architects is a world-renowned, innovative architecture firm located in downtown Manhattan. We are currently seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of a Designer with interiors focus.

Job Purpose/ 

Candidates must have demonstrated proficiency in graphic presentation, finish palettes and specification, conceptual design, construction documentation and construction administration. We are seeking a talented individual with the ability to work, both independently in a self-directed manner, as well as collaboratively within a project team.

Job Duties/

  • Assist project teams during the design phases in creating look + feel boards, material palettes, furniture specification and precedent research.
  • Assist design teams in graphic presentation production through modeling 3D interior spaces and building physical models.
  • Work with project team members and consultants to coordinate drawing sets, details and dimensions. Be watchful of quality issues and show the ability to check one’s own work.
  • Produce compelling design solutions to complex problems.
  • Contribute to the production of technical drawing sets and finish specifications specific to interior fit outs.

Skills + Qualification/

  • Excellent design skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to create fresh and inspiring material palettes that correlate with the design philosophies of various project types.
  • Ability to work under pressure, while managing strict deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate ideas efficiently through hand sketching.
  • Proficiency in presentation graphics in Adobe Creative Suite and utilizing Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling Rhinoceros (Grasshopper skills a plus), rendering in VRay for Rhinoceros (rendering in 3D Studio Max a plus).
  • Proficiency in Revit to produce architectural drawing sets.
  • A positive attitude with an open and creative approach to working.

Education/

  • Completion of a master’s degree or four-year (minimum) undergraduate professional degree in architectural or interior design.
  • 0-4 years of related experience preferred.
