At BLOX, our mission is to change the construction industry for the better.

We use a new building delivery system that replaces traditional design and construction methods with a 21st century approach.  Its called Design Manufacture Construct (DMC) and it is designed to leverage manufacturing so that construction is simpler, faster and cheaper.

DMC weaves together the entire construction value stream from the initial design concept to the manufacture of industrially produced building modules to delivery and construction of the finished building into one seamless whole.  Our integrated teams work to build in speed, quality and cost into the entire process in order to achieve our goal of 2x2x2- buildings that are built twice as fast, at twice the quality and value as the alternative.

DMC is the answer for building clients who are looking for an answer to increasing costs and declining productivity in the construction sector. Cost, speed and design are not competing elements of a zero sum equation- we believe that each, in fact, reinforces the other.

We are looking for a talented dynamic Senior Project Architect for our Freestanding Emergency Department (FED) program team.

The FED Program team at BLOX develops a family of building solutions for leading Healthcare clients nationwide.  Our team works with our clients to standardize the building delivery process and then design, prototype, manufacture, deliver and construct buildings across multiple sites nationwide.  FED projects range from 10-12,000 sf and house acute care functions such as imaging, x-ray, trauma, lab and pharmacy within a self-contained unit. Designs are rigorously developed to marry operational efficiency, cost and aesthetics and are constructed in half the time of a conventional building. Projects are delivered using an integrated manufacturing platform that ships most of the building to site as large prefabricated ‘ubermodules’ which are installed and completed by an integrated on-site construction team.

As a Senior Project Architect you will work with the FED team in a dynamic, rapid-growth work environment, developing your skills in a new field and taking a lead role in bringing projects using the DMC methodology to a successful resolution.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overall project management of FED building projects during all phases
  • Interface with building owner team through permitting, manufacturing, construction and commissioning.
  • Development of site specific building designs based on prototype, including options and alternatives during due diligence phase
  •  Development of permitting documents and coordination of permit requirements with local authorities having jurisdiction
  • Coordination of project details with MEP and Structural engineers and trades during manufacture and construction.
  • Identification of continuous improvement opportunities during all phases for iterative improvement of the building program.
  • Management of program changes in a fast-moving and dynamic project environment
  • Management, collaboration and mentorship of diverse, motivated project team.
