The FullStack Digital Design-Manufacturing group focuses on addressing the path of a Modular project from initial concept with architect and engineers to a fully coordinated virtual building to the factory floor.  As part of a design-build process, designers at FSM work on internal design projects and R&D.  The team also facilitates and guides the work of outside consultant teams such as architects, engineers, surveyors, logistics experts, code experts, and others.

The Design Coordinator role is responsible for in-house design work and facilitates the work of Design Team consultants.  They report to and assist the Design Manager.  FSM is looking for the individual with strong analysis skills but is also capable of communicating modular guidelines and detail through model and drawing creation.  The candidate must be strong in visual communication methods and have capacity to self-manage multiple internal and external tasks.

 Essential Job Functions:

  • Learn FSM modular construction processes, best practices, and technical details;
  • Develop and maintain drawings and details representing FSM’s detail standards and guidelines;
  • Create presentation material explaining the modular system to developers, contractors, and design entities;
  • Research materials, products, and construction best-practices;
  • Provide project analysis support to business development;
  • Coordinating with architectural finish material suppliers and the on-going development of the FSM material library;
  • Have an understanding and capability to research code and zoning criteria.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Development of FullStack standards literature and database;
  • Advancing the development of details and recommending/performing internal research projects;
  • Working with team to develop marketing/project analysis tools.

 Education and Experience Background:

  • B. Arch or M.Arch, or equivalent degree in Engineering or related discipline;
  • Minimum 2-4 years of professional experience;
  • Experience preparing construction documents and presentation material.
  • Strong capacity for research and problem solving;
  • Ability to read, interpret, and evaluate drawings and specifications;
  • Ability to produce clear and accurate digital models and drawings;
  • Understanding of basic construction details;
  • Candidate must have the ability to quickly and graphically present issues and proposed solutions;
  • Revit modeling and drafting skills a must;
  • Generally strong computer skills including experience with modeling software a plus (some combination of Revit, Navis, SolidWorks, CATIA, Rhino);
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing.

 Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required

  • Strong capacity for research and problem solving;
  • Ability to read, interpret, and evaluate drawings and specifications;
  • Ability to produce clear and accurate digital models and drawings;
  • Understanding of basic construction details;
