Firm Description: George Sexton Associates, LLC, a lighting design company, is seeking to hire creative, ambitious individuals to add to our collaborative design team. Our design work involves a multitude of world-class museums, commercial and residential projects. We have offices in Washington DC, New York City and the United Kingdom.

Location: DC Office

Duties: As we are hired by a multitude of clients, i.e. architects, museums, private individuals, the lighting designer collaborates with project managers, senior lighting designers and other team members to develop a design which combines the creative expertise of all team members. The lighting designer plays an integral role in supporting the design team by:

•  Helping analyze and select lighting from appropriate sources.

• Utilizing software tools to produce architectural drawings.

• Other duties may include client communication and traveling for meetings and site visits to ensure that the lighting installations are in compliance with the design documents.

• Creating and working with models, mock-ups and prototypes.

Requirements: Lighting Design, Engineering and/or Architecture degree is required and/or one year of lighting design experience. GSA is willing to accept any equivalent combination of experience and education.

Required skills: AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and Microsoft Office.

Preferred skills: AGI32 Software and Revit.

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience. GSA provides excellent benefits, including health, dental, vision and 401k. There is opportunity for advancement with this position and within the firm.
