SGVA is looking for an intermediate-level architect/designer to join its practice in Brooklyn NY. The firm seeks to hire a full-time architect/designer to develop and execute architectural design through all project phases in support of our growing architectural practice. The ideal candidate is energetic, talented and organized with 3-5 years of previous experience, who enjoys working in a creative environment on a range of project scales and types. Strong rendering and modeling skills and proficiency with BIM required. LEED accreditation desired.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with principals, associates and other team members on detail-oriented projects, including private residential, larger multi-family buildings and institutional projects
  • Understand client and end user needs to develop design concepts
  • Develop and manage all phases of the design/documentation process
  • Produce client presentations
  • Develop, model and render design concepts
  • Mentor and train junior project team members
  • Manage client and consultant communications
  • Professional Degree (B.Arch or M.Arch)
  • Three to five years of relevant work experience
  • Strong proficiency in recent versions of AutoCAD, BIM, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong skills in computer modeling and rendering across multiple software platforms
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time with excellent organizational and communications skills
  • Knowledge of and passion for contemporary architecture and design culture
  • Excellent multi-tasking and detailed organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Dependability, professionalism and a positive attitude are a must
  • Fluent English speaker
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. immediately -- candidates must be US citizens or hold a current US work visa that is valid for a minimum of one year
  • Currently living in NYC area
