MADERA is growing rapidly and recently added a West Coast location in Los Angeles with the plans to open a West Coast Showroom in 2019.


MADERA is seeking an energetic, self-motivated and highly qualified Sales and Project Manager (SPM) to help us in the next phase of MADERA’S growth and development. The SPM will work out of our Brooklyn showroom and will help manage daily sales opportunities, service existing accounts and develop new business leads while managing ongoing leads. The SPM will manage a project lead until a deposit is received and the project is passed along to production. The SPM will also be the point of contact during production, delivery, installation and hand off portion of each job. The SPM will be asked to develop in depth knowledge of the MADERA brand and product as this sets us apart from our competition. They will work directly with the production team as well as logistics and senior management to ensure that all leads are properly serviced, and sales are being managed properly.   • Present, promote and sell MADERA wood products to architects, designers, specifiers and homeowners.
  • Field and service new inquiries that are driven by our marketing outreach—inquiries come in via our website, phone calls, social media and our showrooms in Brooklyn and Los Angeles.
  • Lead the implementation of our “wine and learn” programs with new and existing clients
  • Help manage the onboarding and management of brand managers (sales associates) in new markets as MADERA expands.
  • Work closely with MADERA’S marketing team to coordinate business development activities and develop new initiatives to drive sales and company growth.
  • Coordinate samples request and ensure that samples are delivered and arrive on time and are of the best possible quality. The quality and timely arrival of samples are key to MADERA’S continued success.
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships with new architecture and interior design firms—the majority of MADERA’S sales are a direct result of an architectural specification.
  • Coordinate with the production team to produce and deliver the final product to the client after the sale has been made.
  • Manage the complete project lifecycle and remain in contact with the client or specifier throughout production and delivery to resolve any problems or scheduling concerns.
  • Develop monthly sales reports to present to the sales committee and senior management.


The East Coast Sales + Project Manager will report directly to the Managing Partner of the Brooklyn Office. The East Coast Sales + Project Manager will supervise other sales team members as applicable.


  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales and project management
  • Bachelor Degree in business, architecture or design with at least 3 to 5 years of professional work experience in product sales or business development, within the hardwood flooring industry or more broadly within architecture and design worlds
  • Team player—MADERA works as a team and sales is no different. We see MADERA as a “pooled house” which means that every role is essential and treated as such.
  • Ability to close sales, and attain sales and profit targets
  • Strong organizational skills and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced start up environment
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills and attention to detail is a must
  • Flexible, self-motivated, and a collaborative team player
  • Able to communicate effectively with team members and clients
  • Ability to work retail showroom hours required (including evenings and weekends)
  • Knowledge and understanding of wood, timber industry and wood craftsmanship a plus
  • Interior/industrial design or architecture experience is a plus
