SHED is looking for a talented and motivated designer/architect. In this position, you will be working closely with firm principals on variously-scaled projects from Pre-Design through Contract Administration.  You will be responsible for, among other things:

  • Developing and maintaining 3D (sketchup) models at all stages of design
  • Producing permit and construction drawings
  • Feasibility studies, research, and presentation packages

Strong candidates will:

  • have a portfolio showing strong design skills
  • hold a Masters of Architecture degree from an accredited university
  • have 1 – 3 years post-grad experience in design or construction setting
  • be devoted to architecture and the process of design
  • have an interest in, and understanding of, construction assemblies, material properties, etc
  • be fluent in English and able to communicate effectively verbally, graphically and in writing
  • demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
  • have an interest in and knowledge of sustainable building practices including LEED and Passive House standards
  • be skilled at researching and resolving technical issues
  • be proficient in ArchiCad, AutoCad and/or Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, V-Ray
