Diller Scofidio + Renfro is an interdisciplinary design studio that integrates architecture, the visual arts, and the performing arts.  Based in New York City, Diller Scofidio + Renfro is led by four partners who work collaboratively with a staff of 100 architects, artists and administrators.

The Business Development and Research Coordinator is a member of the Strategy team responsible for intelligence gathering and the acquisition of work for the studio. The team mitigates the risks involved in attaining new projects around the world; develops and maintains relationships; creates new documentation, writing, and content; develops and negotiates fees; creates qualification packages, proposals, and awards submissions; and supports design teams on interviews and competitions.

The specific scope of the BD & Research Assistant includes:

  • research tasks that range from investigating new markets to building typologies and other general architectural/urban topics;
  • writing and managing consultant teams for the purposes of developing RFPs/RFQs;
  • assisting with the graphic design of RFPs/RFQs, studio PR collateral and other presentations as necessary.

The BD & Research Coordinator position is designed for individuals who would like to transition to business or research roles in the architecture field, or for those interested in graduate degrees in architecture, planning, and/or business. Architectural training/education is preferred. Prior experience is required in related fields, from recent graduates to 3 years, typically.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in architecture or related field
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) + PowerPoint
  • Excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills
  • Strong graphic design sensibility
  • Comprehensive understanding of DS+R's work
