The Space Planning Advisor will have a dual role that of conducting space planning and in charge of move add change (MAC) orchestration and implementation. The Space Planning Advisor will work closely with managers and directors to understand their business needs and develop occupancy alternatives in the real estate portfolio.  This position will create scenarios and strategically position the current and future needs of the portfolio based on a deep understanding of relevant metrics and data. Develop presentations and recommendations to management that explain the portfolio planning process and impacts to the organization including financial impacts. Working closely with Facilities and Capital Projects, will advise the Real Estate Asset Manager on current and future demands.


  • Develop space allocation plans, options and schematic plans to meet short- and long-term master plan initiatives; develop project group move options including project charters and coordinate as necessary.
  • Support the company's strategy by developing conceptual design and test fit plans through the use of CAD/CAFM/Revit software.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders and senior leadership to analyze space requirements and provide conceptual space plans/test-fits, leveraging knowledge of architectural design and organizational standards.
  • Actively manage re-stack/construction requests through gathering and disseminating accurate data and information with heavy client involvement. 
  • Lead all move, add, change (MAC) activities to accommodate client needs while providing a high level of customer service. 
  • Maintain and keep current all corporate facility floor plans using CAFM (IOffice, Archibus, or similar) software, including adding and deleting colleagues, documenting changes, etc.
  • Conduct building audits to verify employee locations, furniture layout, and room configurations are correctly noted on floor plans.
  • Work closely with clients to capture and report space demands/headcount growth.
  • For projects requiring construction, act as project manager to manage consultants and contractors.
  • Develop robust end-to-end processes for managing major projects/programs, and ensuring the capture of existing seat demand and future growth.
  • Institute, educate, and enforce work-space policies/procedures and escalate client requested exceptions to policy.
  • Help implement defined processes for Archibus utilization.
  • Develop space standards in conjunction with appropriate contributors and oversee their usage throughout the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Occupancy Planning Manager to set standards for space and construction for three tiers of facility types (HQs; Bases; Multiuse facilities; remote sites), including office / cubicle sizes; # of conference rooms; mobile worker sites; color standards and finishes.
  • Meet with internal departments to manage space requirements, reorganization updates, project move planning.
  • Present reports, scenarios and proposals to all levels of company employees.


  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in architecture or interior design
  • Minimum of five years prior work experience in both occupancy/space planning and MAC coordination in relation to commercial office environments
  • Strong analytical skills, presentation skills and the ability to develop conclusions and recommendations
  • Advanced knowledge of CAFM software (preferably Archibus), space management systems, and relational database functionality
  • Experience drafting architectural drawings, concepts and design
  • Experience coordinating with relevant consultants such as structural engineers, MEP, IT, general contractors, and equipment vendors
  • Construction management experience preferred
  • Experienced in managing projects of varied scope and complexity
  • Advanced knowledge of various office furniture systems
  • Advanced AutoCAD skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office
