Title: Junior Architect


Education: B.Arch, Preferred M.Arch or foreign equivalent

Years of Experience: Two to four (2-4) years of experience

Type of experience: Commercial office/retail, mixed use, multifamily

Technical Requirements:  Proficient in AutoCAD, and Revit, Photoshop, InDesign, excel and word; and knowledge of building codes and zoning analysis.

Licensing: Preferred LEED accredited


Company Information:  The Eisen Group (TEG) is a multi-faceted architecture, interiors, planning and economics firm that is seeking passionate individuals that are looking for an urban location and a very friendly work environment.  TEG is a 14 person firm (growing) that has a number of interior and base building projects under construction and numerous new projects in the office.  We are looking for people that are interested in leading building documentation from schematic design through construction administration including the code and zoning analysis required to effectively complete a building design process.  Versatility and motivation are important attributes, as any member of the studio frequently works on multiple projects in various phases, while producing high-quality work consistently.


Job Description: A Junior Architect has three to five years of experience, and has developed a basic knowledge of the technical aspects of building design and documentation, and collaborates with a Project Architect in developing technical drawings.  This individual must be comfortable and competent in receiving direction and mentoring from more experienced staff.  The ability to communicate both internally with the project team, and externally with consultants and clients is important.  The position represents an opportunity to continue learning through project experience, with the goal of becoming a Project Architect capable of being a project leader.



  • Participates in a variety of project tasks from conceptual phase through construction administration

  • Participates in the technical resolution and coordination for defined portions of a project

  • Assists in planning and conducting work, and making adaptations and modifications to complete working drawing set(s)

  • Receives direction and mentoring from more experienced staff

  • Receives instruction on specific assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions and independently performs assignments. May devise new approaches to problems encountered

  • Provides support to Project Designer and/or Project Architect as necessary

  • Participates in preparation of technical drawings supervised by senior level architects or technicians

  • Produces construction detail documentation that conforms to quality assurance, quality control and best practice standards

  • Assists with the preparation of and in conducting on-site visits, field reviews and project meetings

  • Assists in preparing and coordinating the review of contractor's schedules, submission of shop drawings and samples

  • Performs product research. Consults with manufacturers, evaluates and helps select project related materials, specifications. May assist in writing specifications

  • May participate in team meetings to understand project issues, coordination with other disciplines, schedule adherence, technical issues

  • Fosters and maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with the Project Leadership Team

  • Incorporates Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects

  • Adheres to project team software parameters and standards

  • May perform as Job Captain on certain projects

  • May prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings and builds models for client/project team review

  • Participates in fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices



  • Basic knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness

  • Basic knowledge of architectural building systems

  • Basic knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines

  • Basic knowledge of building codes and ability to research

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD

  • Proficiency in Revit

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and InDesign graphic software preferred

  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to work in team environment

  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines
