Robert Young Architects is an award-winning architecture and interior design studio specializing in high-end residential and hospitality projects.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented, Senior Architect | Project Manager who is passionate about design excellence and detailed execution, and is a strong, organized leader with experience in wood framed, single family homes to join our talented team.

He or she will work collaboratively with the firm leadership to manage projects, will have excellent communication and client relationship skills and a sophisticated sense of design.  Responsibilities include oversight of scheduling and budgeting, supervision of project teams and the development of architectural documents, including technical detailing and specification research, coordination with consultants, obtaining agency approvals, and working with contractors.  He or she will be a role model and provide overall guidance to staff members by promoting efficiency, hard work, clear and thorough objectives and teach best project practices in attaining project goals as well as the overall goals of the firm, while working toward and achieving high standards of design and professionalism.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 6 consecutive years relevant experience (post grad)
  • ARCH, MARCH-I or MARCH-II degree
  • Registered Architect in the U.S. preferred
  • English language fluency
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to build quick rapport with all levels of employees, clients, consultants, vendors, and contractors
  • General oversight and project management experience to lead a project team effectively and independently
  • Thorough knowledge of architectural design, drafting, detailing, building materials, and construction techniques, with specific knowledge of wood frame construction and building codes for both NYC and the East End of Long Island
  • Extensive CA/CD experience required
  • Excellent conceptual and design skills
  • High level of proficiency with AutoCAD for 2D construction document production
  • Basic knowledge of 3D computer modeling software
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States without need for employee sponsorship

Salary would commensurate with experience and we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance and 401k plan.
