Field Paoli is a San Francisco-based architecture and urban design practice. We are looking for an organized, positive, and experienced superstar to take on the task of coordinating all Marketing & Business Development efforts for our firm.  We seek to hire a motivated individual who will grow with us as we work toward our goals of design excellence and project diversity.

The successful candidate will be able to juggle multiple priorities, work with principals and associates on project pursuits, coordinate public relations and social media outreach, manage conference attendance, and help maintain the momentum of others in support of the firm’s business development goals.

This position requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, graphic and compositional skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for promoting the firm’s projects and culture. 

Though not an exhaustive list, below are the key responsibilities and qualifications for this position.

Key Responsibilities


  • You are involved from start to finish -- researching leads and the go/no-go process; planning the RFP/Q response process; coordinating with others to produce the final submission; interview prep and follow up 

General Marketing Collateral

  • Work with principals and designers to generate compelling printed and/or digital marketing collateral (brochures, announcements, qualifications packages)
    Coordinate with external graphic designer as needed

Conferences/Career Fairs

  • Manage logistics for those attending annual conferences and career fairs, including registration, sponsorships, collateral/swag, dinner/event planning and coordination, and researching and prepping attendees for speaking presentations/roundtables 


  • Review to-be-published materials to ensure alignment with brand message

  • Curate and update website content, coordinating with outside web designer when redesign is needed

  • Lead the effort for an upcoming visual brand refresh of graphics and collateral materials

Public Relations/Social Media

  • Brainstorm with principals and staff on blog and social media posts, and articles for formal publications; coordinate with outside consultants for placement of news releases and writing when necessary

  • Review and edit Instagram and other posts for conformance to brand voice, not to mention conformance to commonly accepted grammatical and spelling rules


  • You live to be organized! 

  • Plan and lead Marketing/BD meetings, and are responsible for notes and action plan assignments

  • Proactively keep track of outstanding action items and move them forward by coordinating, cheerleading, reminding, and persuading others when there is a bottleneck


  • Manage internal resources: Salesforce, Mailchimp, active and archived materials, proposal materials (project sheets and resumes), marketing calendar, color printer profiles/coordination

  • Delegate various tasks to administrative assistant and architectural staff, and expand their ability to provide support with training/mentorship as needed

  • Plan and coordinate photography of projects and staff as needed

  • Review industry newsletters and publications and share pertinent items

  • Manage annual holiday card process from design/production through signing/mailing

  • Award Submittals – track calls for entry for applicable opportunities; follow process similar to proposals (go/no-go, planning and production, submission and follow up)

  • Event planning

  • Work with principals to generate and manage the annual marketing budget

  • Gain comprehensive understanding of our work, practice areas and capabilities and share this information with incoming staff as part of the onboarding process


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field

  • 6+ years of related professional experience, ideally in the AEC industry

  • Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills; you must be proficient in InDesign and Photoshop from Day 1

  • Excellent writing and editing skills, including proofreading for spelling and grammar on social media posts and other to-be-published materials

  • Proficiency with CRM database (Salesforce preferred) and MS Office

  • Strong relationship management and communication skills

  • An infectious positive attitude and calm demeanor, especially when working under a deadline

  • Highly effective whether working independently or as part of a team

Extra Points

  • Strong graphic design sense and layout skills

  • Experience with website editing/design

  • Actively involved in industry organizations
