Senior Designer – Madison office

We’re looking an individual with 10-15 years of CADD experience who is committed to the highest level of accuracy, thoroughness and clarity – the hallmarks of a set of ADCI construction plans and a point of firm pride. This position works closely with architects to develop detailed drawings of architectural designs and plans for buildings in a variety of industries. The successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic and advanced skills in prioritizing, organizing and working both independently and as a team member.

Senior Designer Position Summary

Use Autodesk Revit software to prepare detailed drawings of architectural designs and plans for buildings and structures in various industries according to specifications provided by architect. Makes copies of drawings and maintains information regarding changes. Makes routine decisions, but refers more complex questions/problems to architects or supervisor. Has in-depth understanding of drafting techniques and architectural terminology. Possesses mechanical aptitude with ability to complete comprehensive mathematical calculations.

Responsibility Highlights

  • Uses computer assisted design/drafting software and equipment to develop designs and revise drawings.
  • Lays out and plan interior room arrangements for commercial buildings, using computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software.
  • Assists architect with analysis of local building codes, site limitations, space requirements and specifications.
  • Coordinates with electrical, mechanical and structural subconsultants to decide on the best method for presenting plans.
  • Acts as resource for less experienced designers.
  • Sets up and maintains an organized file system for drawings following company standards.
  • Maintains accurate design standards and procedures in assigned areas of work.
  • Under limited supervision, performs non‐routine and complex assignments. Develops details and calculations required for project delivery. Makes decisions on project details and design.
  • May oversee the work of others on projects and assign work to and assist less experienced designers. Involved in analysis of client problems in conceiving and developing design solutions. Makes independent decisions on almost all issues. 

 Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree and may have Bachelor’s design or technical school training.
  • Minimum 10 to 15 years relevant work experience after obtaining professional degree.
