We are currently seeking an Architect focusing on retail to be an integral part of our efforts focusing on financial services retail initiatives as our already expansive AMA portfolio grows in this area.

Our team is seeking an entrepreneurial, highly creative, and energetic Architect passionate about financial services and retail design. This position is critical in growing an important market within the firm and will be actively engaged with team members in Portland, Seattle and San Francisco to support AMA's goals and overall vision. He or she must be both a team player and a self-starter. We expect this person to have a can-do attitude, deliver creative solutions, and a desire to grow their technical expertise for success in this role. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in the industry, an aptitude for dynamic design, a commitment to sustainable architecture, and a desire to cultivate client relationships.


  • Work with multiple clients and/or projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrate excellent collaboration and team communication skills to ensure successful project delivery
  • Participate in all phases of design, including due diligence, full construction documentation and coordination
  • Participate in client and team meetings throughout projects and clearly communicate and be able to execute deliverables
  • Maintain awareness of project budgets, schedules and deadlines and all associated team efforts to assure projects are delivered on time and in budget
  • Maintain, track and communicate continually evolving client standards and process requirements.
  • Works closely with project team to solve design challenges
  • Research and communicate with multiple jurisdictions to understand their individual entitlement, permit processes and timelines.


  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Architecture from an accredited school
  • Minimum of 2-5 years’ Architecture ideally focused on financial institutions or retail roll out
  • Account (repeat client) experience highly desired
  • Strong AutoCAD or REVIT skills, with experience in CA
  • Bluebeam and InDesign experience are a plus
  • Experience working on an integrated architecture/interiors team a plus
  • Experience working with outside consultants and client vendors.
  • Desire to help develop and maintain client relationships
  • Collaborative, team oriented, and also tech savvy
  • Emerging leadership skills
