We're looking for an architect with experience in independently managing projects to join our growing office.

Requirements include NYS licensure, familiarity with all phases of project design and construction, and at least 2+ years experience in management of project delivery and oversight of CD production.

The position includes both managing and taking part in the production of documentation, from schematics to CDs; coordination with consultants, fabricators, and on-site construction personnel; and oversight and guidance of junior staff on the project specific team.

Written and oral communication skills are essential to this role in which you will be the single point of contact for clients, consultants and other project stakeholders.

The position will require a candidate to:

  • Have a strong understanding of project design philosophies in order to interpolate appropriate aspects of design philosophies into project development, ie actively contribute to the solution of general architectural problems
  • Perform work on basic segments of projects, including iterative and collaborative refinement of details with the project team and consultants
  • Manage the project team and partake in the preparation of design documents, including construction documents, DOB filing sets and various construction phase sketches
  • Oversee quality control of team member output, and initiate collaboration across disciplines and trades to ensure well coordinated projects
  • Prioritize and occasionally concurrently work on multiple projects - it doesn't happen too often, mainly on deadline pushes for other jobs in the office
  • Act as the point of contact for clients

Nice to haves:

  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • At least 5 years overall of professional experience, and at least a professional degree in Architecture or a BS or BA in Architecture
  • Professional Licensure in NYS
  • Working knowledge of building codes
  • An understanding of building standards (doesn't have to be northeast specific) and how buildings are constructed
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong 2D and 3D skills including AutoCAD, Rhino, and Revit fluency, and graphic skills including Adobe Suite
  • Experience of being part of team putting together sets of drawings
