Job Description:

We are looking for an individual who can act as a Project Lead from a client and consultant perspective. This person will work alongside design and management principals at Shimoda Design Group. The candidate will be expected to work on a variety of projects and provide a leadership role for the client and the studio. Currently most projects are in the Southern California area, but projects are also in Chicago, New York, and Washington DC.

Shimoda Design Group is a hands-on, design-first studio. We are looking for candidates to build a strong leadership group.

Job Requirements:

  • 10+ years of related architecture and design experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of architectural and interiors principles and practices.
  • Extensive experience in assembling drawing building packages from concept to construction administration.
  • Ability to fluently draw and organize projects in Revit.
  • Proven time management and planning skills as a Project Manager/Architect.
  • Licensed Architect in State of California.
  • Professional degree (Master or Bachelor) in Architecture from an accredited program
  • Thorough understanding of architectural technology, documentation, and building codes.
  • Responsible for various portions of project design including conceptual, schematic, and design development.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.
  • Assist in supervising project document control tasks and maintains quality control of such tasks.
  • Provide project team coordination for the finished plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction.
  • Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish samples
  • Must demonstrate proficiency of Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp, and CAD.
  • Contribute to office initiatives and learning programs.
