The Digital Fabrication Manager coordinates the day to day operations of the Digital Output Lab, 3D Print Lab, and the Digital Fabrication Lab for the Tulane School of Architecture, including equipment and supply purchase and maintenance, support for student and faculty use of the equipment, and the creation of safe and organized lab environments. The Digital Fabrication Manager will also manage the business operations for the labs including managing budgets, coordinating schedules with studio faculty, and hiring, training, and supervising student employees. The Digital Fabrication Manager will work closely with directors and the Dean™s Office on strategic planning and curricular support with regard to the School of Architecture labs.

Additionally, the Digital Fabrication Manager, in collaboration with a digital technologies consultant, oversees the purchase and maintenance of technology in School of Architecture classrooms and, in coordination with Technology Services, provides technology support for School of Architecture faculty and staff.  This will include but is not limited to troubleshooting connection issues, computer/printer networking, software licensing and installation, hardware repairs, and hardware and software upgrades.


  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Rhinoceros and Autodesk
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, students, staff and vendors in a diverse environment
  • Knowledge of digital fabrication and large format printing, including file preparation for laser cutters, 3D printers, and CNC routers

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree and one year of operations management experience 


High school diploma and seven years of operations management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating CNC routers and/or robotics
  • Experience maintaining and servicing digital fabrication equipment and digital imaging technology
  • Experience developing and implementing training programs suitable for new and advanced users
  • Strong AV knowledge
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience creating and maintaining budgets
