Alexander Zilberman Architecture P.C. is an Architecture, Design and Project Management firm located in the Financial District specializing in high end retail projects. We are seeking a Studio Director/ Senior Project Manager to join our tight-knit and growing international team.

The candidate’s main responsibility will be to assist the project managers and entry level coworkers in coordinating resources to achieve excellence in all aspects of architectural services with grace and ease. The Studio Director will also manage their own projects from concept to construction administration and will be the main liaison with the firm’s principal. This position requires a thorough understanding and appreciation for of the life of a project as well as an ability and inclination to think creatively about the tools, processes and interpersonal dynamics involved in project and office management.

Responsibilities:

As Studio Director

  • Tracking progress of all current projects
  • Ensure that quality control measures are in order and in use for all projects
  • Check in with Project Managers and oversee workload distribution
  • Report to principal and management regarding all aspects of studio life
  • Assist in upkeeping and perfecting global firm management systems
  • Assist in recruiting and responsible for onboarding new coworkers as Project Manager
  • Lead all aspects of a selection of projects
  • Participate during all phases of project delivery
  • Interface with client, contractor, agencies, engineering and specialty consultants
  • Lead the coordination and document preparation for projects and provide quality assurance via review of project documentation
  • Other related duties as assigned    

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 5+ years of experience in an Architecture/Design firm
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience in all phases of architectural projects
  • Knowledge or strong interest in firm management
  • High level of design competence
    Knowledge of national, state, and local building codes including accessibility
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (minimum)
