Alexander Zilberman Architecture P.C. is an Architecture, Design and Project Management firm located in the Financial District, New York, specializing in high end retail projects. We are seeking a Studio Director/ Senior Project Manager to join our tight-knit and growing international team.

The candidate’s main responsibility will be to assist the firm’s principal and oversee project management and operations for all projects as well as coordinating resources to achieve excellence in all aspects of architectural services with grace and ease. The Studio Director will also manage their own select projects from concept to construction administration. This position requires a thorough understanding and appreciation for the life of a project as well as an ability and inclination to think creatively about the tools, processes and interpersonal dynamics involved in project and office management.


As Studio Director

  • Supporting and reporting to Principal and on all aspects of studio life

  • Assisting in and identifying implementation action plans to achieve firmwide goals and objectives as set by Principal

  • Managing studio activities as outlined in our standards and systems per our principles and values

  • Leading and overseeing all projects by specific team or multiple teams

  • Collaborating with Principal and senior design/production team to identify and define path and timeline for projects’ scope, budget, and completion sequencing

  • Leading coordination and document preparation for projects and providing quality assurance via review of project documentation

  • Creating, administering, and tracking individual project budget and Generating collective budget reports for all projects for regular review with Principal

  • Ensuring policies and procedures are followed and carried-out according to the standards set forth by firm as they relate to graphic representation and production

  • Communicating with clients about project timelines, budgets, and overall project needs

  • Managing and scheduling entire production systems for all projects in the office

  • Assisting Principal in hiring and developing team(s) and individuals

  • Mentoring, encouraging, empowering, and nurturing individuals’ in professional development

  • Researching new concepts, techniques, and technologies for the betterment of the entire internal team and our production capabilities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 7+ years of experience in an Architecture/Design firm

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge and experience in all phases of architectural projects

  • Knowledge or strong interest in firm management

  • Highly Skilled technically

  • High level of design competence

  • Knowledge of national, state, and local building codes including accessibility

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (minimum)
