Project Manager

Archetype LLC is a full service architectural firm located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Founded in 2001 by Alan Berman, Archetype is now a dynamic 16-person firm specializing in residential design.

Responsibilities include:  

  • Manage architectural design team.
  • Residential design experience preferred.
  • Responsible for carrying our design vision and execution of all design plans, elevations, and details for residential projects.
  • Developing architectural details and building assemblies.
  • Preparation and execution of design and construction documents for obtaining all required state and local permits.
  • Experience working with Landmarks Preservation Commission preferred.
  • Knowledge of NYC Building Code preferred.
  • Management of budgets and schedules.
  • Mentor other team members in their development.
  • Management of multiple aspects of client, team and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape and civil consultants.
  • Applying design and construction solving skills in coordination with contractors, designers and consultants.
  • Maintain the project manual and specifications.
  • Provide construction administration services and quality control.
  • Travel to conduct on-site observations and document site reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
  • Four to eight plus (4 – 8+) years of professional experience with a U.S. architectural firm.
  • Architectural registration or in-process.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience resolving complex technical and design issues.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills.
  • Understanding of how buildings are constructed and ability to create technical documents that succinctly, thoroughly and accurately describe the work to be done.
  • Knowledge of building codes, standards and building structure.
  • Ability to work on multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously.
  • Self-starter, problem-solver, and a team player.
  • Proficiency in AutoCad, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite, Revit (preferred)
