We are currently seeking a CLIENT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER in our PLEASANTON, CA office. As a member of our Marketing Team, this individual will lead our technical staff in developing and maintaining successful client relationships by matching our expertise with client expectations and goals.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and lead a “key client” relationship management program for the firm - focusing on technical staff engaging with clients regularly to understand their business needs and ensure satisfaction.
  • Monitor client activities to create recommendations and identify and/or develop new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with and support Market Sector Leaders and key technical professionals in support of firm’s strategic business development goals
  • Track and coordinate follow-up on all project opportunities in Ajera (firm accounting software) and conduct client research, as needed
  • Coordinate and perform intelligence-gathering to deepen understanding of key markets, clients, strategic partners, and competitors
  • Identify and implement targeted client engagement initiatives (conferences, speaking engagements, etc.) to support market sector business plan targets
  • Conduct client feedback on proposal efforts
  • Respond to general inquiries and direct project leads to appropriate technical team member
  • Maximize firm exposure and serve as an ambassador of the firm at key events.  Identify engagement and exposure opportunities in the local design and civic communities
  • Work closely with firm’s Marketing and Communications Manager
  • Provide client related input for proposals and presentations to ensure messaging is client-focused and relevant
  • Work in collaboration with marketing team members to maintain marketing systems (e.g. image library, digital asset database, CRM)

KEY EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a professional services marketing environment, with a preference for architecture or engineering services
  • Degree in Marketing, Architecture or related fields
  • Demonstrated experience with opportunity/client research, lead tracking, follow-up and reporting
  • Experience implementing a client development and retention process preferred
  • Experience creating and implementing business development/client retention training programs for technical staff a plus
