Fluidity Design Consultants is a leading edge, Los Angeles-based water feature design and engineering firm with an international practice. The firm collaborates with many of the world’s most respected architects, landscape architects, and developers in the realization of creative and technically refined architecturally scaled water features for many kinds of projects.

Fluidity is looking for a Designer with a foundation in architecture and design, with an emphasis in design development, coordination, specialty assemblies and fine detailing. The position requires a motivated, professional personality, developed design skills, interpersonal skills and a commitment to producing quality work. The Designer will be expected to collaborate as a team member with other designers and report to the Studio Principals.

Experience Level Required: 3 - 4 years                                                                                                                                                                                      Education Required: Architecture or Landscape Architecture degree. Graduate degree a plus, but not required.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD 
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe creative suite software
  • General knowledge of both Apple and Windows Operating Systems 
  • General knowledge of Sketchup, Rhino,  and Revit 
  • Understanding of architectural drawing and production processes 
  • Strong visual, verbal and written communication skills 
  • Prior experience in an Architect’s or Landscape Architect’s office

Daily tasks may include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Create project design drawings in AutoCAD or Revit during SD, DD, CD phases
  • Assist Studio Principals with drawing package releases
  • Participate in design workshops & brainstorming sessions
  • Attend phone or web conferences with clients (may be after or before hours)
  •  Design Analysis, Design Evolution, Materials Research, Coordinate with Engineers and other Consultants
  • Quality Control procedures
