Fluidity Design Consultants is a leading edge, Los Angeles-based water feature design and engineering firm with an international practice. The firm collaborates with many of the world’s most respected architects, landscape architects, and developers in the realization of architecturally scaled water features for many kinds of projects.

Fluidity is looking for a Project Designer with an architectural background who is interested in water feature design. The position will require highly developed AutoCAD skills, 3-D modeling and rendering skills. Professional experience developing design drawings into construction documents is a plus.  The Project Designer will be expected to generate drawings quickly and be able to respond to critique efficiently. Knowledge of the latest modeling & rendering techniques is required. Knowledge of cross platform file sharing (Revit to Cad, Cad to Rhino, etc.) is also required.

Experience Level Required: 2 - 4 years 

Education Required: Architecture or Landscape Architecture degree. Graduate degree a plus, but not required


  • Must have permanent, US residency status or be a US citizen. Fluidity cannot sponsor Visas at this time.
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Strong knowledge of Rhino 3D modeling & rendering
  • Strong knowledge of all Adobe creative suite software
  • General knowledge of Macintosh computer systems 
  • General knowledge of Revit and BIM modeling
  • Understanding of architectural drawing production processes 
  • Strong visual, verbal and written communication skills 
  • Hand drawing and model-making (not required but would be a plus)
  • Familiarity working in an architect‘s or landscape architect’s office

Daily tasks may include, but not be limited, to the following:

  • Create fountain design drawings in AutoCAD during various phases of development
  • Assist Studio Principal with drawing releases
  • Create 3D models & renderings in Rhino or Sketch Up for presentation to clients
  • Attend in-house design workshops & brainstorming sessions
  • Attend phone or web conferences with clients (may be after or before hours)
