FXCollaborative is looking for a Technical Director to provide Interior Studio leadership by overseeing the Quality Assurance/Quality Control process and working closely with project teams to ensure the highest level of technical performance.

The Technical Director should be a Senior Architect and will be responsible for assisting the firm with their goal of producing projects of the highest technical caliber, operating with direct project involvement in each of the studios, working directly with the Partners, coordinating internal technical design reviews, providing advice and guidance, and leading the firm’s internal and external communication regarding technical issues.

Qualifications for the Technical Director are:

  • A minimum of 15 years of architectural experience and design and delivery of large-scale, high-performance, programmatically complex projects in the corporate, commercial, residential, educational and healthcare sectors, domestically and internationally. 

  • Extensive experience in technical detailing, performance specification writing, consultant coordination and collaboration, construction documents, and shop drawing/submittal review.

  • Knowledge of building design, planning and local, state, and international building codes and regulations.

  • Systematic approach to design and the ability to organize and manage efficient drawing production is essential.   

  • Ability to perform thorough technical reviews of drawings, specifications.

  • Demonstrated design technology experience across all project phases.  A working knowledge of BIM preferred.

  • Strong management and leadership skills.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Registered Architect preferred.

  • LEED accreditation preferred.
