We are currently seeking an Architect to be an integral part of our efforts focusing on financial services retail initiatives as our already expansive AMA portfolio grows in this area.

Job Description

Our team is seeking an entrepreneurial, highly creative, and energetic Architect passionate about financial services and retail design. This position is critical in growing an important market within the firm and will be actively engaged with the leadership in Portland, Seattle and San Francisco to support AMA's goals and overall vision. He or she must be both a team player and a dynamic leader. We expect this person to deliver creative solutions, have an expert grasp of retail and financial service trends, design, and technical expertise is essential for success in this role. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in managing or implementing financial services or retail roll out design, an aptitude for dynamic design, a commitment to sustainable architecture, and a desire to cultivate client relationships.


  • Manage multiple clients and/or projects simultaneously

  • Develop and maintain client relationships and team communication to ensure successful project delivery

  • Produce fee proposals and project schedules in response to client requests or new opportunities

  • Direct/Participate in all phases of design, including full construction documentation and coordination

  • Conduct client and team meetings throughout projects and clearly communicate expectations/next steps

  • Conduct QC reviews of all deliverables to ensure design reviews occur at the designated stages of projects

  • Maintain project budgets, schedules and deadlines and all associated team efforts to assure projects are delivered on time and in budget

  • Maintain, track and communicate continually evolving client standards and process requirements.

  • Mentoring opportunities.


  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Architecture from an accredited school

  • Minimum of 7-10 years’ Architecture primarily focused on financial institutions

  • Account (repeat client) experience highly desired

  • Strong AutoCAD or REVIT skills, with substantial experience in CA

  • Bluebeam and InDesign experience are a plus

  • Experience using project management software and tools

  • Experience working on an integrated architecture/interiors team and or coordinating with outside architecture firms when required.

  • Experience working with and maintaining clear communications with outside consultants and client vendors.

  • History of developing and maintaining client relationships

  • Collaborative, team oriented, and also tech savvy
