(S|A, Inc.) is a contemporary design firm located on the top floor of 3 story Courtyard Building with light and tree top views in the developing tech and creative “Silicon Beach” area. S|A specializes in new construction of Residential, w/ some Commercial and Mixed-use buildings in California and New York. We are currently seeking a full-time Architectural Project Coordinator to join our team.

Required Skills:

  • The Project Coordinator will work in a team overseeing project design, construction & project administration, while mentoring junior staff. And will be under the direction of a Studio Director and the Principal.
  • Knowledgeable of codes and regulations including ADA, Building Codes, Zoning, Plumbing Code, Mechanical Code, Fire Code.
  • Proficient in reviewing Building Department corrections/ objections and maintaining Building Code, the client’s preferences, and design intent.
  • Excellent drafting skills. Must be able to balance 3D model building, drafting, project management, and coordination.
  • Manage consultants on building projects including structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, expeditors, lighting, and landscape consultants.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, ensuring project correspondence is documented, and preparing meeting agendas and meeting minutes.
  • Perform Quality Assurance reviews of drawing sets.
  • Proficient in Construction Administration and documentation, such as RFIs, ASIs, submittal of drawing reviews, and familiarity with CSI Divisions.
  • Experience with AIA Contracts and Project Schedules.
  • Support Studio Director and the Principal assuring client satisfaction.


  • Bachelor of Architecture required; Masters Preferred.
  • 10 years architectural work experience, minimum 4 years in Project Coordination, or Management.
  • Proficient in CAD drafting, preferably ArchiCAD, Photoshop, and 3D computer modeling software.
  • Complex problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Flexibility in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Proficiency with building code, Energy Code, Zoning/ Planning Resolutions, Building Department filing processes, and ADA code knowledge.
  • Experience in Interior Design is a plus.
