Andrew Franz Architect, PLLC is an award-winning and widely published architecture and design firm with projects ranging from private houses and apartments to commercial spaces and cultural facilities.

We are seeking a full-time Studio Manager and Assistant to the Principal with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. The ideal candidate is a highly organized and proactive individual with outstanding communication skills. This position requires someone who can effectively balance many plates.

Responsibilities include:

General Office / Operations Management

  • Maintain office operations, policies and procedures
  • Monitor phone answering system and preliminary phone correspondence with prospective and new clients
  • Monitor IT consultants with purchasing and repairing computer and office equipment
  • Coordination between design and accounting regarding client invoicing
  • Oversee and review purchasing of office and kitchen supplies
  • Assist with shipments and deliveries, and tracking of inventory
  • Assist Project Managers, Interior Designers and Marketing Director with administrative tasks
  • Assist the Principal with clerical duties, client appointments and personal tasks

Scheduling / Calendar Oversight

  • Monitor Principal’s calendar
  • Scheduling and planning of all studio and client meetings, lunches and events
  • Monitoring employee attendance, vacation schedules and sick days
  • Manage travel plans

Human Resources / Personnel

  • Coordinating and maintaining employee benefits and insurance policies
  • Organizing new employee set up
  • Coordinate placement of job ads and interviews
  • Schedule and follow-ups related to employee reviews
  • Maintain and research renewals of all commercial, auto and workers comp insurance policies

Applicant must have strong knowledge of architectural design industry standards, business practices and management of a design staff. The candidate should be comfortable with Microsoft Excel and Outlook and be familiar with basic bookkeeping. College degree is required.
