PROJECT ARCHITECT

At blue architecture + interiors we focus on great design, great service, & great results. We have deep experience in housing, mixed-use, healthcare and hotel design. We focus on creating spaces that work the way you want, look great and feel "right."

We work hard for our clients, and run a causal office where our pups can cozy up to flip-flop clad feet while we take on every aspect of project design through project completion. Whether you prefer to work with sweeping views of the Sound from our Bremerton hub, or smell the salty air from our Ballard abode is up to you.  

We are seeking a job captain/Project Architect with 2+ years of professional experience competent in the detailing and technical documentation of project design, coordination of building systems with consultants, confirmation of conformance with all applicable codes.  A “can-do” approach and willingness to learn are a must on our small team:

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret design concepts and translate them into workable construction systems; maintain quality technical and design control
  • Develop design and construction documents for projects; preparation and modification of permit and construction drawings ensuring the incorporation of the design intent, utilizing Revit and AutoCAD software
  • Work with our team to develop construction details, research materials & systems, participate in product & code research, and incorporate regulatory requirements into technical documents
  • Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals  

Skills and Competencies:

  • Familiarity with construction materials, methods, standards and codes, including Seattle and Washington State IBC codes
  • Architectural building systems and construction detailing
  • Construction documentation production
  • Revit (including modeling and documentation) and AutoCAD required
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines, strong organizational skills
  • Work independently or with a design team to complete projects on aggressive schedules
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely; both verbally and in writing
  • 3D modeling and rendering software, such as SketchUp, is a plus
  • Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign graphic software is a plus

Education:           Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture from an accredited university

Experience:         2+ years of professional architectural experience
