Opportunity Snapshot:

Under the direction of the Creative Director, the Interior Designer - Brand Studio is responsible for creating holistic, branded environments while exhibiting the ability to translate design ideas into innovative and fresh design solutions. The position will focus on high-level; project, product and program level design assignments, and manage them from concept development through final completion.  The position requires a broad range of proven design experience within different programmatic commercial environments focusing on, but not limited to, restaurant, hospitality, and retail environments.  Working directly with our fabrication facilities, it will require knowledge and understanding of furniture design and manufacturing. Designer will meet customer specifications while ensuring the highest quality design solutions and will do so in accordance with corporate policies and design practices. 

Skills, Background, + Requirements:                      

  • Mid-Senior level position: 4+ years of experience working within commercial interiors. Experience in designing within retail and restaurant environments with national/global brand clients is a plus.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design and/or related field from an accredited school
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit plus Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Strong 3D modeling and visualization capabilities. SketchUp is a plus
  • Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials and specifications.
  • Ability to create, review and redline construction documents and cabinetry shop drawings.
  • Strong understanding of ADA Accessibility and other code compliance guidelines, NCIDQ certification a plus.
  • Excellent visual, verbal and written presentation skills and the ability to develop informative, professional, creative presentations. 
  • Strong time management skills and ability to be nimble, juggling multiple projects at a time.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Utilize your experience with all phases of Interior Design project deliverables from Concept Design through Construction Administration to realize a successful design concept.
  • Work independently or with minor oversight to perform assignments including; choreographing the client needs, space planning, mood/brand creation, conceptual design, design development, coordination of ISI built products and details, architectural coordination, and final design execution.  
  • Develop concept/mood strategies with successful implementation from concept phase through project execution.
  • Work closely with internal team to manage Interior Systems built product (lead times, budgets, and finishing) as well as coordinating with architectural companies and bid sets.
  • Utilizing Cad &/or Revit to build technical floor plans, elevations, details, and specifications throughout various design phases of preliminary & final planset.
  • Participate and/or lead client and consultant meetings
  • Assist in the creation of design services contracts, formulating scope and hours.
  • Ability to work within project budgets and review procurement packages and details.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.  Maintain departmental design practice standards.

Related Skills: 

Ability to read and interpret construction documents, production drawings, and specifications.  A high level of verbal and written business focused communication skills, the ability to manage project workload, produce presentation documents, and coach segments.

Credentials: 

Remain current in design technology, trends, and strategic industry information. Has a professional development growth plan.  Professional credentials such as; architectural licensure, AIA, or NCIDQ certifications a plus.
