Tim Barber Ltd. (TBL) is a Los Angeles-based architecture firm specializing in traditional, custom residential design.  We seek a Supervising Project Manager (SPM) at our 20-member firm, to lead the design and project management of select, prestigious projects.  This position is second in responsibility to only the Principal/CEO.

The SPM will supervise and collaborate closely with Project Managers, the Interior Architecture Designer, and Design Associates to update company standards and work to ensure that protocols, training, and quality of architectural documents and design services reflect TBL standards.

Some duties include:

  • Implementing strategies set by the CEO
  • Refine and uphold project management and team procedures to improve work quality, increase profits and efficiency
  • Support Project Managers and their teams in effective staffing, project distribution and scheduling
  • Conduct and/or oversee all Project Manager and Design Associate reviews

Successful candidates will have strong design and production talents and an aptitude for business management. They must have extensive practical operations experience and should have previously served as a SPM within an architecture practice. Candidates must also have impeccable interpersonal skills and an eagerness to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty as needed. 

Key characteristics, experiences, skills, and licenses:

  • 5-year architectural degree
  • Knowledge of design & drawing set protocols in custom residential design
  • Familiarity with the IBC, CA Building Code, and general code compliance
  • Familiarity with interior detailing and waterproofing
  • Significant team-building and leadership experience within an architectural organization
  • Clear, collaborative, and timely communications
  • Organization, critical-path thinking, resourcefulness
  • Advanced Revit, CAD, Excel, and Word proficiency within PC platforms
  • Licensed architect preferred, although not required
