Global architecture and design firm is seeking a Senior Project Architect with good Construction Administration experience for their NYC office. The Project Architect/CA will be responsible for project implementation of contract documents to construction execution, including coordination with consultants.  

Job Responsibilities:   

  • Lead/assists a project team in development of the technical design and the preparation of architectural design and construction documents including drawings and specifications
  • Management of project team, directing communication between client, design consultants, construction manager/general contractor and government.
  • Collaborates with the Project Designer for the design of the project
  • Responds to Submittals, RFIs and field questions
  • Reviews shop drawings and submittals
  • Assist Project Manager with managing projects from inception through completion including all design phases, client interaction, schedule and financial performance.
  • Provides directions to junior staff.
  • Lead all CA services and represent the firm at all project meetings.
  • Ensures that the design meets the client’s and all regulatory requirements and is constructible from any and all documents provided for that purpose.
  • Able to represent the firm to clients, consultants, contractors, and jurisdictional authorities.
  • Responsible for taking a lead role in technical preparation, production and execution of project documents. Develops, checks and coordinates technical aspects of the design of a project.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and delegate.
  • Coordinates with a Project Manager or Principal in Charge for a smooth execution of the project.
  • Perform AQ/AC reviews.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Architecture is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience with Hospitality, high end luxury projects
  • Substantial CA experience (submittal, RFI, ASI review/response and consultant coordination), ability to detail (exterior envelope) is required
  • Strong communication skills, articulate, graphic, organizational, technical verbal and written skills
  • Proficient with computer-assisted design software such as Revit, AutoCAD and Adobe required.  Familiarity with Photoshop, Illustrator, In-design; 3D software such as Sketchup is preferred.
  • Proficient with other data management software such as Word and Excel
  • LEED Accreditation preferred
  • Architecture License is required
  • Must be able to coordinate consultant team.   . 
  • Strong technical and communication skills.
  • Construction Administration experience is a must.  (Hospitality experience is desired but not a requirement.  High-end residential experience is good)
  • Familiarity with Newforma Software a plus.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite of programs at a minimum.
