Who We Are:

John Milander Architects is a growing, full service architecture firm, specializing in high-end residential and resort Architecture (new builds and remodels), Construction Project Management, and Owner’s Representation. We pride ourselves on our client support, from design inception through completed construction. We are seeking a team member who shares our passion for well-designed, well-detailed projects, and who will strive to meet and exceed our standards for client support.

About the Position:

We are seeking a driven and enthusiastic Architect with at least 4 years of experience to join our full-time team. You will be leading and assisting on projects in all stages of the design process, from initial concept drafting to coming up with construction details on the fly during the C.A. phase. You will be responsible for assembling permit and construction sets; therefore, the right candidate for this position is an expert in AutoCAD 2D and has construction site experience. As we have many remote projects, excellent communication skills are paramount to ensure all project needs are being met. Travel may be required. You should be knowledgeable in the city plan check process, and feel comfortable and confident interacting with consultants. We love the process of presenting ideas to our clients, so knowledge of SketchUp (with V-Ray) and Adobe Creative Suite programs is preferred.

This position requires the following:

  • 3+ years of project architect/project management experience
  • A degree in the field of architecture
  • The ability to prepare a full construction set and details of all scales
  • Excellence in AutoCAD 2D and drafting standards
  • Confidence in coordinating with consultants and contractors
  • Construction site experience
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are imperative

JMA has great things to offer you, such as:

  • A work environment that encourages learning and growth
  • A furry friend or two in the office (we hope you like dogs!)
  • Snacks and beverages for those mid-afternoon pick-me-ups
  • A fair and competitive salary
  • Health Plan
  • 401k

To apply, please submit a cover letter that outlines your background and passions. Give us a sense of who you are! Also, please include a one-page resume and a few samples of work demonstrating that you possess the required abilities listed above.
