Our widely published company is headquartered in a fast-paced design office and manufacturing facility in LA. We design, develop, and manufacture a variety of façade systems, interior wall and ceiling systems, custom art installations on a full range of state of the art equipment, in our 75,000sf facility. Our growing team is seeking a forward thinking, outstandingly creative Product Development Intern that is passionate about good design. This position is a great opportunity to be exposed to all aspects of Product Development and all facets of its operation. We are open to a flexible schedule if you are currently a student. Successful internships have been known to lead to full-time positions.
Responsibilities:
Be an active participant and support the Arktura team in many phases of architectural product development including, but not limited to, design development, shop drawings, design reviews, project scheduling, testing and mock-up coordination, manufacturing oversight and quality control, design and manufacturing documentation.
Produce documentation to support products and custom architectural installations ranging from shop and manufacturing drawings to user manuals and marketing collateral.
Create and develop 3D models from concept to production-ready status.
Clarify and solve design and engineering issues.
Preferred Skills and qualifications:
Experience with architectural design, detailing, and construction details
Strong graphic and layout design
Rhino Grasshopper a plus Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
Microsoft Excel and Word
Experience with product design/development a plus
Fabrication experience
Hand sketching
Student or Recent Graduate in Architecture or Interior Design
