At Henning Larsen, we are expanding our New York studio! Therefore, we are looking for an experienced project architect to take a key position. At Henning Larsen’s 7th global office, you will be part of a team from the ground up strengthening our presence in North America.Are you up for the challenge?

We collaborate on projects across offices, and the atmosphere in our offices is fast-paced and passionate.  As our new colleague you will get the opportunity to work with staff in New York and in Copenhagen on projects throughout North America - typically high-profile university and cultural buildings, commercial towers and headquarters.

What will be your main responsibilities?
We are looking for an experienced project architect who can take a key position on bigger projects – both when it comes to running the specific projects but also in terms of management of project teams.

Areas of responsibility will be:

  • Communication and coordination with external consultants and team members
  • Maintaining primary contact and meetings with clients
  • Planning, control and follow up on budget, project design schedule and milestones and ensuring general project progress
  • Participation in cross-functional review of all project submissions
  • Communication, coordination, and leadership with internal team members

National travel on a regular basis is part of this position. 

Who are we looking for?
You have an architectural degree from an accredited institution and minimum 8 years of experience with large American projects, including university cultural buildings and commercial towers and headquarters. Experience in New York is a plus. You have experience on built work with all aspects of the design stages from conceptual design to construction documentation with project close-out and with participating in multi-consultant project teams. You are fluent in REVIT as well as Rhino and comfortable with other drawing programs and the Adobe suite; familiarity with project management software is a plus. You have strong organization skills and have experience putting together a drawing set for various stages of project development. 

Familiarity with American building codes is essential, and knowledge of bidding, permitting and construction management is an advantage. Architectural license is a benefit, and further a passion and commitment to practice sustainability is required. A LEED Green Associate / AP and/or Well accreditation is therefore preferred.

As a person, you independently take initiative and make prompt, clear decisions even though it may involve tough choices. You initiate and generate activity with commitment and engagement and communicate clearly with both external and internal cooperating partners and project members.
