SUMMARY: The Design Associate will work directly with a Senior Designer to develop furniture plans and create FF&E selection books and will also be responsible for inputting selections, reviewing purchase orders, expediting, and installation for high ­end residential projects.

Develop furniture plans and any necessary interior elevations in AutoCAD based on client needs and requests

Create FF&E selection books to include furniture, fabrics, accessories, lighting, drapery and artwork for Senior Designer review and client approval

Responsible for the accurate and on ­schedule documentation of interior design specifications in purchasing system, reviewing purchase orders, and communicating with purchasing agent to confirm all order details and questions

Work directly with the consolidator to track orders and confirm their delivery to the warehouse and maintain documentation of items received

Frequent international travel required for project site visits and to oversee installation of all FF&E items

Provide assistance to Senior Designers by researching products, following up with vendors via telephone and email, scheduling vendor presentations, and collecting needed samples and materials Assist in maintaining sample and catalog library

Document all items received at the time of installation; log any damages, missing items, and communicate with the consolidator and purchasing agent to correct issues in a timely manner

Bachelor of Interior Design, BA, BS, or BFA (from a four­ year Interior Design Curriculum)

Two-­Four years of upscale/luxury residential design experience from published and/or recognized interior design firm(s)

Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Photo Shop, AutoCAD, perspectives and artistic renderings Must possess valid U.S. Passport

Must have knowledgeable and practical experience with: Vendor relationships and interior material/furniture sourcing Domestically and Internationally

Preparing materials (fabrics, furnishings, flooring, etc.) for client presentations

Technical requirements of manufacturers commercial and consumer use of lighting, fabrics, furniture, cabinetry hardware, and case goods

Evaluating Alternatives for: Discontinued Lines Proposed Substitutions Value Engineering Creative “Interpretations” (variations to copyrighted designs)

Durability & Rating Quotients (Rubs, Gauges, Counts, Densities, etc.) ADA Requirements; and review of Design Documents for compliance
