Project Architect

Rose Architects is an up-and-coming Architecture Firm based in Sunny Fort Lauderdale, FL. We believe in beautiful functional designs that make people feel fantastic about the spaces they occupy. We are currently looking for a Project Architect to manage and implement a number of projects throughout the area, with scope ranging from simple kitchen and bathroom remodels, all the way to complete gut and remodel. 

Your Role

As a Rose Architects Project Architect, your job is to combine technical drafting knowledge of construction documentation and project management from start to finish. With a focus on residential projects, you will be interacting with clients frequently, managing consultants, and putting together complete drawing sets for permit approval. 

This position requires your full-time employment at our office located in Northeast Fort Lauderdale (Oakland Park and Bayview Drive). 

Your Compensation

$48,000, potentially more based on experience. We do yearly performance/salary reviews as well. 

Also:
- Signing bonus upon successful completion of your 90 day orientation period.
- 10% finder's fee (of architectural fees) for any project you bring into the office.
- At this time we do not offer insurance, nor do we offer 401k. As we grow this will change but at this time it is not an option.

What You Will Do

  • Manage multiple aspects of client, team and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with consultants (structural, MEP, etc.)
  • Resolve technical and design issues to produce cost effective and constructible solutions
  • Implement production of drawings, specifications and construction administration tasks
  • Responsible for delivery of documents with design intent and top-notch technical quality
  • Maintain and oversee the project manual and specifications
  • Conduct on-site observations and document site reviews
  • Process submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFI
  • Interface with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of the project
  • Actively participate and contribute to the financial performance of project
  • Ensure projects conform to contract
  • Managing client expectations and oversight of consultant coordination
  • Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships through successful project delivery

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited school optional but ideal
  • 5+ years of related residential experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in Sketchup (or other 3D platform) is a plus
  • Proficiency in 2020 is also a plus
  • Working knowledge of building codes (especially the FBC 2017 6th Ed.), standards and building structures
  • Experience putting together complete Construction Drawing sets, from laying out sheets conceptually all the way through notes, schedules, and all required details
  • Ability to understand how buildings are constructed and to create technical documents that succinctly describe the work to be done
  • Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
  • Excellent written + verbal communication and client relationship management skills
  • Must have the ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationships through successful project delivery
