Job Description:


The Miller Hull Partnership is seeking highly self-motivated applicants for immediate placement in our Seattle Studio for a 6-month internship as an architectural intern with an interior emphasis to assist with multiple projects.  Applicants MUST be enrolled or have completed an accredited interior architecture program.  The position is paid on an hourly basis with health benefits and Seattle paid sick leave required by Washington law.  Applicants will be expected to be able to contribute approximately 40 hours per week during regular business hours. More hours may be available upon request but would not be guaranteed or required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively collaborate as part of a project design team on multiple projects.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of design concept and an ability to apply and execute assigned tasks and responsibilities which further the design concept.

  • Experience with technical aspects of interior architecture and assembling construction documents for interior environments including millwork and detailing.

  • Demonstrative ability to perform material and furniture research/gathering within the framework of the project design concept, the client goals and the sustainable values of the firm.

  • Ability to work with a project team to coordinate a full set of documents, including multi-disciplinary coordination and collaboration.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Professional degree in architecture, interior architecture or interior design from an accredited university program

  • Zero (0) to three (3) years of prior, post-graduate experience

  • Proficiency with Revit, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office platforms

  • Examples of projects that required a high level of collaboration and team coordination

  • A demonstrated ability to collaborate and work with others in a design team environment

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and organizational skills

  • Product knowledge as it relates to interior assemblies, finishes and subsequent specifications

  • Examples of work demonstrating an understanding of sustainable design

  • An understanding and/or interest in of material exploration, research and product knowledge, particularly with how it relates to Red List chemicals

  • Diagraming and interior architectural renderings

  • Examples of digital or physical models

  • Hand-sketching

  • A detail oriented, critical design thinker
