PDA is an architecture office in the Venice/Mar Vista area of West LA.  We do residential, retail, and commercial work, dedicated to ambitious design with carefully considered detailing. Our work is characterized by an acute consciousness of spacial quality and visual/material texture as it impacts day-to-day living.

Position now open: project manager/architect with 8-10 years experience in all phases of custom residential and commercial work at US offices.

PDA creates working drawings with AutoCad or Vectorworks software, on Mac platform.  We are currently transitioning away from Vectorworks, but are finishing several projects in that mode and could extend the process if an applicant is an expert Vectorworks user only.

Position requires:

  • Very strong design skills and ability to represent project design ideas at small and large scale through hand-sketching and digital methods (2D and 3D).
  • Substantial project management experience including construction administration in field and office
  • Ability to assemble filing, pricing, and CD sets with some guidance as to office standards for basic formatting and necessary contents. Familiarity with relevant local codes
  • Excellent english written and oral communication skills, as well as strong organizational abilities
  • Excellent client/contractor/consultant relations ability
  • Facility with Adobe Suite, Sketchup, Rhino, and/or other Mac-platform rendering software
  • This position will feature drawing/drafting and collaboration with other project team members in creating drawings sets
  • Applicants must have a professional degree from a credentialed US academic institution (college/university).  No applicants without US work visas. We encourage licensed or licensure-track applicants.

PDA's work includes modern single-family residential projects, commercial/office work, adaptive re-use, and contextually sensitive renovations.  Insight, experience, and enthusiasm for appropriate detailing (in modern and contextual modes) is desired in a successful applicant.

Thank you.
