Job Description:

Maya Lin Studio is seeking an Art and Architecture Designer to play an important role in the development and implementation of multiple large sculpture and architecture projects, as well as studio art production. The designer will be an integral part of a small, fast-paced, studio environment (4-5 people). A successful candidate will be persevering, and able to communicate clearly.

The candidate should have a B.Arch or M.Arch  degree, and should have at least 3-5 years of professional experience. A background in fine arts will be useful.  Must be willing and excited to work on both art and architecture projects--and in blending these two disciplines.

Additionally, the candidate should be capable of developing and editing 3d mesh models from topographic data sources (such as GIS) and have experience preparing files for digital fabrication.

-Proficiency in Rhino, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office

-Experience with coordinating projects with multiple consultants

-Experience with the production of detailed drawing sets

-Experience with Rhino Terrain or 3ds Max preferred

-Strong model-making and hand-drawing ability

-Computer rendering experience with VRay or Maxwell is a plus

-Experience running, troubleshooting, and maintaining a desktop 3d-printer is also a major plus

-If in the licensure process, candidate needs to have previously accrued all of their NCARB internship hours, or is not needing the hours
